Breast Flap Reconstruction Gallery

About this patient
This 47-year-old woman from Scottsdale, AZ underwent bilateral mastectomy for breast cancer followed by immediate breast reconstruction with DIEP microsurgical free tissue transfer flap. Her follow-up procedure involved bilateral nipple reconstruction along with tattoo of the nipple-areolar complex. Postoperative photos at 1 year show an excellent, naturally-appearing breast reconstruction with good symmetry, size, and contour. By use of her own skin and fat, it provides reconstructed breasts that look, feel, and move as close to her own breasts. She is very pleased with her results, as seen here at 10 months, and reports great self-esteem and “whole” again.
