Breast Flap Reconstruction Gallery

About this patient
This 47-year-old woman from Scottsdale, AZ was diagnosed with a left breast CA. She opted to have a left mastectomy. She desired to use her own tissue for breast reconstruction and chose the microsurgical, DIEP free flap breast reconstruction immediately following her mastectomy. Following this procedure she had contralateral symmetry achieved with an implant on the right to increase fullness and shape of her breast. She is ecstatic about her reconstructed breasts as well as her abdominal contour. Since her abdominal muscle was kept intact, she had minimal pain and no change in abdominal wall strength or range of motion. She is also very pleased with her new belly and will be having her nipple areolar complex reconstruction in the near future.
